52th Annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games
Over one hundred Scottish clans and societies sponsor this celebration of Scottish dance, music and athletics, known for its colorful parades and kilted pageantry. Phone 828-733-1333 or email to highland@gmhg.org for information and a brochure.

"America's Toughest" marathon attracts runners from all over the country and many parts of the world. The race starts in Boone and ends on the track at MacRae Meadows. The course features a net elevation gain of 1,000 ft. However, runners who successfully complete the race end up climbing well over 3,000 ft. due to the rolling terrain of the course. To make it even more difficult, the last portion of the race-- a distance of 13 miles--is virtually uphill. Phone 828-265-3479 or email lamarreca@boone.net for information.

July - The biennial Gathering of the Clan McAlister of America Information is posted on the CMA Web Site: http://www.clanmcalister.org.

Join us for the annual Board of Directors (BOD) Meeting. It will be held Friday, July 15 and Saturday July 16 at the Sheraton Downtown Nashville, in Nashville,TN. Hotel reservations may be made at 800-325-3535. Ask for the CMA Room rate.

The Gathering in 2007 will likely be held there, too, but this will only be official after this meeting. All CMA members are welcome to attend the BOD meetings. There just won't be all the other activities this year like at the Gathering.
